Manager Spotlight

SignalPoint Asset Management

SignalPoint Asset Management, LLC is an SEC-registered investment adviser established in 2008 to focus on the needs of institutions and high-net-worth individuals. The firm was co-founded by Jay Handy, Thomas Veale and Michael Orzel as an investment management company with the end client in mind and with the objective of managing assets with an unwavering eye on risk containment.

Veale is the chief architect behind the SignalPoint investment process, a conservative discipline developed and refined over the last 20 years, which aims to take advantage of market volatility. He has served as the Chief Investment Officer since inception, while Handy and Orzel continue to serve in the roles of Senior Portfolio Strategist and Chief Operations Officer, respectively.

SignalPoint’s ETF investment strategies use a proprietary model to dynamically adjust allocations between asset classes and sectors according to their assessment of market risk. They always use a diversified approach and slowly add to sectors in times of weakness, while selling incrementally as their assessment of risk rises. This process:

  • Provides a diversified approach to managing market sectors and geographic regions utilizing exchange traded funds (ETFs).
  • Systematically trims gains and redeploys capital as attractive valuations present themselves.
  • Adjusts ETF exposure by the SignalPoint Market Risk Indicator (MRI) which is based upon an evaluation of market data. The MRI is the primary factor in determining the cash allocation for the portfolio.

The SignalPoint ETF strategies offered through EQIS range across the full spectrum of risk tolerances and geographic exposures including:

  • SignalPoint Stable Income
  • SignalPoint Moderate Income
  • SignalPoint Balanced Point
  • SignalPoint Universal Signal
  • SignalPoint Signal 10

  • SignalPoint Global Signal
