Transfers Manager Jennifer Diaz started at EQIS in 2015 on our account opening team. She also worked in Advisor Services before joining the Transfers team and was promoted to lead the group in 2020.
We sat down with Jennifer to find out more about her and her work here at EQIS.
Describe your typical day-to-day for us.
Advisors keep our team very busy with hundreds of transfers in process every month. We are processing incoming transfers, tracking status and conducting careful quality checks. I stay close to the process to make sure transfers are done accurately and as quickly as possible, and our advisors are informed throughout the process.
What do you love most about your job?
I love training and educating my colleagues and our advisors about our transfer process. I also love the many relationships that our team has developed with other colleagues over the years. Of course, Transfers is closely tied to Account Opening and Trading. We really have a tight-knit team mentality here at EQIS and our advisors are always our top priority.
What is your most often-asked question?
Our custodians work with all of the major banks and investment firms, and the most often-asked question of my team is whether the counterparty is ACAT or Non-ACAT. Advisors want to know if they can submit their requests electronically.
What is one interesting fact that no one knows about you?
My first concert was when I was 15 and I saw Britney Spears presenting the Pussy Cat Dolls. I mean, how often do you get to see Britney Spears? It’s the most memorable concert of my life!
What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever received was from my dad, who always told me to “Save your money.” I really live by that advice and I’ve eliminated almost all of my debt and saved more money toward becoming a first-time homebuyer.
