Alpha Cubed Investments

Process-Driven Investing

Available on the EQIS platform, the Alpha Cubed Balanced Growth managed strategy from Alpha Cubed Investments is a 60% equity/40% fixed-income asset allocation portfolio that blends a value-based dividend equity sleeve with fixed income. The equity allocation also contains a 10% sleeve designed to oscillate between growth-oriented securities and income-producing securities based on broad market conditions.

The investment process is a combination of top-down economic trend analysis and bottom-up fundamental and technical work. The portfolio is both sector and industry-diversified, consisting generally of large-cap, blue-chip companies. Alpha Cubed uses a maximum position size and monitors each position continuously for fundamental changes. This is intended to be a long-term portfolio with a turnover of less than 20%.

The goal of the strategy is to be appropriately invested at each phase of the investment cycle. To achieve this, Alpha Cubed utilizes a dynamic, three-step process:

  1. Fundamental Analysis
Alpha Cubed utilizes both a top-down and bottom-up buy-and-manage approach to security selection, focusing on the metrics that adhere to its discipline.
  2. Technical Analysis
Fluctuations in the stock market can be driven by excesses in investor sentiment, insider activity, breadth and volume trends, and other technical factors. Alpha Cubed uses over 30 technical indicators that it has refined over the years to help measure bull and bear market conditions and determine entry and exit points.
  3. Risk Management
Alpha Cubed believes that no portfolio is complete without risk management. It employs a disciplined and managed approach to increasing market or sector exposure when it believes valuations are low and decreasing market or sector exposure when valuations appear high.
