Keeping you informed on the markets, trends and how Freedom Advisors is serving you.
Christy Dever joined Freedom Advisors in 2015 as a Transfers Specialist and was recently promoted to Operations Manager.
We caught up with Christy to find out more about her and how she helps advisors.
Congratulations on the promotion. Could you describe your day-to-day role here?
As the Operations Manager I lead the team that processes all new account openings and transfers, as well as ongoing account maintenance. As part of our team culture, I help my colleagues throughout the day with processing, complex situations and advisor and advisor assistant questions. In addition, I assist our Advisor Services Team during volume surges to make sure advisors are not kept waiting.
What do you love most about your job?
The people I work with! EQIS has always felt like a family and everyone has taught me so much over the years. I wouldn't be where I am today without their guidance and have made life-long friendships and built memories with people that will never be forgotten.
What is your most complicated question?
Probably how to process/what is required for a death claim. Each claim is unique so they can be very tricky and confusing at times, but we try to make it as easy as possible.
What is one interesting fact that few people know about you?
I used to sing the National Anthem at basketball games back in high school!
What is the best advice you ever received?
My mother told me many times when I was younger that "stressing about it will never change the situation or the outcome." When I am feeling overwhelmed, negative or stressed about things in life I remind myself of that and it helps to ease my mind and keep me grounded.
